To protect your auto from theft, the first thing to do is not make it easy for the thieves by leaving valuables in plain sight. This will include laptops, bags, purses, wallets, cell phones and CDs. If you do have them on the passenger seat for example, make sure you stow them safely in the trunk before you leave home. If you make the transfer when you have parked, a thief could be watching you.
If the local laws allow, think about having your windows tinted as that makes it more difficult for a thief and there would be more chance someone would spot them trying to look inside your car.
Do not use the glove box to store valuables as that is the first place a thief will look and don’t leave your keys in the ignition or think of hiding them in a special place such as in the sun visor or the wheel well, as thieves know all of those places.
