An off road accident at Dumont Dunes in the desert has left one man dead.
According to police, at around 12.55 a.m. on Tuesday, they were informed of an accident in Dumont Dunes in the Mohave Desert, about 130 miles southwest of Las Vegas. However, as the dunes are so remote, California Highway Patrol was unable to reach the scene until around 2.40 a.m.
It appears that the 2013 Polaris RZR had flipped several times and the man was ejected. However it is not known how the accident occurred. The man was pronounced dead at the scene with major trauma to his head and neck. The San Bernadino County Coroner’s office identified him as 22 year old Justin Matthew Walker.
There was no comment on the response time from the emergency transport company, Baker Ambulance.
