A motorcyclist was struck by another biker on Interstate 15 near Sahara Avenue on Friday and died of his injuries.
Nevada Highway Patrol said the incident happened about 1:21 a.m. Friday on the northbound lanes of I-15 near Sahara Avenue. They went on to say that Julius Gerald IV, aged 31, of Las Vegas, was riding a black Honda bike to the left side of another motorcyclist in the left lane of the freeway. This was also confirmed by witnesses.
Then, according to the NHP, the other motorcyclist lost control and struck the victim’s bike on the right side, causing him to hit the center median and be thrown off.
The victim came to rest in the travel lanes where he was then struck by a rear tire of a tractor-trailer and medical examiners later said Gerald died of multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the accident.
According to the troopers, the second motorcyclist fled, and they are looking for him.
