On Saturday, 25 July a man died in a boating accident on Lake Mohave.
According to officials at Lake Mead National Recreational Area, which is about 90 miles south of Las Vegas, they were called shortly after noon on Saturday to say that a visitor had been injured by a boat propeller near Cactus Cove. It appears that the female operator of the boat, accidently put the boat into reverse and ran over the victim.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife and Arizona Game and Fish responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead and he was later identified as 51 year old Charles Estrada of Mission Viejo in California. The Mohave County Medical Examiner said that the cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries from boat propeller blades.
The National Park Service and Nevada wildlife officials are investigating the incident which is currently being labeled an accident.
It is not yet known whether the boat operator will face any charges.
