Motorcycle Crash Leaves Man Critically Injured

On Monday afternoon a motorcycle crash left a man critically injured.

According to Las Vegas police, the accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. on Flamingo Road, approaching Escondido Street, near Maryland Parkway. Alvin Willingham, age 58 and his son, 27 year old Justin Willingham were out riding their motorcycles. Neither of them was licensed to drive them. Alvin Willingham was on a 1980 Yamaha motorcycle and travelling west when a 1999 Oldsmobile being driven by Wilbur Ramberg turned left in front of him to turn into a shopping center. He crashed into the vehicle and landed on the roadway and the car spun and stopped.

Willingham was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with a very critical head injury and the car driver suffered minor injuries. Justin Willingham was not involved in the accident and stopped to try and help his father.

East Flamingo was closed in both directions between Maryland Parkway and Algonquin Street while the accident was cleared and the investigation began.
