Pedestrian Killed by Hit and Run Driver

A driver ran a red light on Thursday leading to the death of a pedestrian.

According to Metro police, early on Thursday morning, at around 4.30 a.m., a dark sedan ran a red light at the intersection of Sahara and Eastern avenues. At the same time, according to witnesses, Las Vegas resident, 57 year old Marlon Duane Collins was crossing in a cross walk. The sedan had no headlights and it ploughed into Collins who died shortly afterwards at University Medical Hospital. The driver did not stop.

Police said that they are still looking for both the car, which is said to be a dark colored Nissan Sentra from 2013 or 2014, and its driver. It was last seen heading east on Sahara.

Metro investigated the crash, leading to the closure of the intersection of Sahara and Eastern for around four hours.
