Robot Car Unveiled in Las Vegas

According to Franck Cazenave, the marketing director for Bosch, 90% of all accidents are caused by human error, so the move towards the robot car, as demonstrated at the Global Consumer and Electronics show in Las Vegas, is the center of interest.

The technology for the self parking car as seen at the CES, has been developed by Swedish car manufacturer Volvo and French parts maker Valeo, and although it is still at the prototype stage it could be available within six years.

It now seems as if we are getting closer to the robot car and as cars begin to talk to each other and react to what is going on around them there are all sorts of benefits, not only less accidents. Traffic should run more smoothly which will lead to massive fuel savings.

Cazenave went on to say that travel will become much more comfortable with drivers having time to themselves, as they won’t have to drive anymore. They can have a nap, read or even surf the web.
